In making our cabinets the greater part of our timber is sourced within
Suffolk, supplied by sympathetic tree surgeons, woodland managers
and local sawmills.

It is sawn to our specifications, air dried for a minimum of a year until
ready to be further conditioned prior to bringing it to the bench. In this
way we can give a provenance to everything we make. The new owner
of one of our pieces can be told where the tree came from that made
their cabinet, what age it was, why it was felled and so on. In this way
the process of commissioning furniture becomes more personal and
interesting, benefiting a small part of the local economy, and reducing
unnecessary imports of foreign timber.
We often make furniture from our customer's own garden trees,
and can advise on extraction and milling, stacking and seasoning,
from tree to final form.

Our style of work is broadly within the English Arts and Crafts
tradition, but also inspired by Shaker/ New England craftsmanship.
